RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023: Candidates who are aiming to apply for RBI Grade B 2023 examination should know the RBI Grade B eligibility criteria. RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023

The aspiring candidates preparing for RBI Grade B Examination 2023, must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. If any sort of criteria is not taken care of, then it can lead to disqualification of the candidate’s application. Below are the detailed expected RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023 - Nationality

 According to the previous year’s official notification released by RBI, the candidates must belong to any of the following categories. They are - 

  • (i) A Citizen of India
  • (ii) A subject of Nepal
  • (iii) A subject of Bhutan
  • (iv) A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • (vi) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from any of the following countries: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to settle permanently in India. 

For the candidates belonging to the category (ii), (iii), (iv), and (v), the Government of India (GOI) will issue a certificate of eligibility for them, which will be required to receive the offer of appointment from RBI (if selected). 


RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023 - Age Limit

Candidates appearing for the RBI Grade B 2023 examination should be at least 21 years of age, whereas the maximum age limit for the RBI Grade B exam is 30, as per the 2022 notification. The 2023 notification is expected to have similar criteria. For the candidates, who are possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications, the upper age limit for them will be 32 and 34 years respectively. The upper age limit for the reserved category candidates are as follows-

RBI Grade B 2023 Number of Attempts 

The maximum time a general category candidate can apply for the RBI Grade B Phase I exam is 6, any candidate, who has already appeared 6 times before, is not eligible to apply for the examination as per the last year’s notification. The 2023 notification is expected to remain the same. There is no attempt limit for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, EWS categories.

Minimum Educational Qualifications 

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General)

• Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Note:

• Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XIIth and is at least of 3 years’ duration/ candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination.

• Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the post.

OR

• Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after graduation and is at least of 2 years duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to post-graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination.

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR

• Essential: A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

OR

PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

OR

Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute

Candidates having Master's Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM

Essential:

A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

OR

Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and one year post-graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute.

OR

M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years.

OR

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.


Note: Where the University, Institute, or Board does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into the percentage of marks, in the degree or passing certificates, the undefined parameter(s) would be followed as given below.

Additional RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria 2023 

(i) Candidates, usually, female candidates who have changed their surname or name after their marriage should be having a valid Gazette Notification, marriage certificate or affidavit in both original and photocopies. In case of any mismatch between the admission letter or examination call letter and the photo ID proof, RBI has the right to restrict the candidate to sit for the examination.

(iii) Canvassing by or on behalf of any applicant/candidate or even by bringing any political or any other outside influence for the selection is prohibited by the board. In case of any such cases, RBI reserves the right to disqualify the candidate.

(iv) All the eligibility conditions for a PwBD candidate who wishes to enjoy the reservation, are governed by the “Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016", provided that they also meet the special eligibility conditions in terms of physical requirements or functional classification.

(v) Candidates are not allowed to change their category of themselves during the selection process. All the candidates must have valid documents to prove their eligibility conditions to enjoy the benefits of the reservation. In the case of such candidates, became physically disabled during the selection process due to any unfortunate events, must produce valid documents for acquiring a disability to the extent of 40% or more as defined under RPWD Act, 2016, to get the reservation benefits. 

(vi) All the candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWSs/Ex-servicemen category and want to be benefited from the reservation/ relaxation benefits must hold all the requisite certificates in a pre-given prescribed format to claim them. Please note that all the certificates applicable for the particular benefit should be dated earlier than the closing date of the application for this recruitment drive.
