RBI Grade B Selection Process 2023

Annually, the Reserve Bank of India conducts the prestigious RBI Grade B exam to recruit aspirants into the middle-management levels as Grade B officers. The recruitment is done for different Grade B Officer posts. The details of the post-wise selection process are as follows:

The RBI Grade B selection process for Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General) includes the following stages:

  • Phase I Online Exam- 200 marks
  • Phase II Online Exam- 300 marks
  • Phase III Interview- 75 marks.

For the post of Grade B Officer DEPR, the selection process will comprise the following stages:

  • Phase I Online Exam - 200 marks
  • Phase II Online Exam - 200 marks

For RBI Officer Grade B DISM, the selection process will comprise the following stages:

  • Phase I Online Exam - 400 marks
  • Hase II Interview - 75 marks​

RBI Grade B Selection Process - Phase 1

As you know, the RBI Grade B Officer selection process for DR General is divided into three stages for General posts only. It begins with the Phase-I Prelims stage. It is an online-objective exam round consisting of four subjects. Aspirants will be asked a total of 200 questions for 200 marks within a duration of 120 minutes. Note -

  • In Phase-I, candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate to be selected for Phase-II.
  • This stage is just qualifying in nature.
  • A total duration of 2 hours will be allotted for answering. However, separate time-frames will be given for each test.
  • The minimum aggregate RBI Grade B Cut Off marks will be decided by the Board in terms of number of vacancies for being shortlisted for Phase-II.

RBI Grade B Selection Process - Phase 2

  • RBI will set the papers in both English and Hindi, except Paper-II which will be in English only.
  • Candidates will get the time and venue of the exam in the admission letters issued shift-wise.
  • The admission letter can be downloaded from the official website of RBI.
  • Candidates who scored beyond the minimum cut-off marks in Prelims are only eligible to appear for this Mains stage.

RBI Grade B Selection Process - Interview

Candidates who qualify for the Phase-I and Phase-II RBI Grade B selection processes will be called for the final interview round. The RBI Grade B Interview is the third and final phase of the selection process.

  • The interview will carry a total of 75 marks.
  • The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of cumulative scores obtained in Phase-II (Paper 1 + 2 + 3) and the interview round.
  • Candidates may opt for the interview either in Hindi or English.
  • The selection ratio of the interview round is 2:9. It means 2 out of 9 candidates will be called after the mains in terms of no. of available seats.

Final Selection for RBI Grade B Post

The final merit list prepared by adding the Phase-II and interview marks is used to make the final selection for the RBI Grade B position. The precise date for the announcement of the final selection for the RBI Grade B position is not yet known. Candidates should expect the final selection to be announced a few weeks after the interview round concludes.
